DUVAL COUNTY, Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland informs citizens that Monday, November 17, 2014 is the last day to register to vote or change party affiliation for the Special Primary Election on December 16, 2014.

All registered Democratic voters in Duval County living in State House of Representatives District 13 are eligible to cast a ballot. December 16 is a democratic primary with two democratic candidates running in for the State House seat facing a republican candidate for the Special General Election on February 17. Florida is a closed Primary State, meaning voters may only vote for candidates of the political party in which they are registered as of Book Closing (F.S.101.021).

Voters may go online to Duvalelections.com and click the Voter Status tab to learn their status. Residents may pick up a voter registration application at our downtown office, at any regional branch library, at city government offices or online. Citizens must register or make changes to their party affiliation at least 29 days before the Primary Election, November 17, 2014, to be eligible to vote in this Primary Election (F.S.97.055).

If a voter needs to update, change the address of his or her legal residence within Duval County, or submit a name change, he or she may do so up until and including Election Day, December 16, 2014.

Citizens must return a completed voter registration application to our office 105 E. Monroe Street by the close of business on Monday, November 17, 2014. Mailed applications must also be sent to our 105 East Monroe Street office and must be postmarked with book closing date.

Anyone please call the Supervisor of Elections Office at (904) 630-1414 or visit our website Duvalelections.com for more information about the Special Primary Election on December 16th.
